Labour has never won the Montgomery parliamentary seat and it's unlikely that the selection of a failed councillor with no connection with the seat will change that sorry record.
Nick Colborne, the former councillor for Ruabon, struggled to come last in a three-horse race in May 2008 that saw Plaid take the seat for the very first time. Perhaps it's an omen Heledd!
Still, at least Labour has chosen its candidate in that seat. The once rock-solid seat of Clwyd South is still without a candidate just months before the General Election.
