It would seem that one of Conwy CBC's Conservative Councillors, Cllr Dennis Tew of Deganwy has
resigned from the Conservative group and although it hasn't been confirmed he could be joining Plaid Cymru. If that is the case that would be excellent news for Plaid and an absolute disaster for the Conservatives in this
marginal Westminster seat especially as Deganwy WAS rock solid Tory.

All very quiet on the Tory blogs with the exception of the Thoughts of Oscar which seem to confirm the story quoting Phil Edwards's twitter comment.
Interesting comment by an Anonymous...probably Tory supporter in Aberconwy on Oscar's blog:
Much grumbling in the ranks about Janet's "leadership", though "leadership" is not what it is.
Janet and her clique have there own way, and the rest of us get told what to think!
So many colleagues are now considering there position that Dennis may prove the first stone of an avalanche.
rumours are right, Cllr Tew to join Plaid.
Cmon! Be realistic .. this is not good news for Plaid .. I hear there is not much concern in the tory ranks that Santa Claus has resigned!
Before coun. Tew APPLIES to join (that's still the rule, isn't it?), what's his public record like?
ho ho ho, try as you might you cannot mininise the impact of this defection on the Tories 3 months before a general election in a marginal seat.
Fact is it is a Con-Lab marginal at Westminster! Not to forget Plaid only gained it on the "Gareth Jones" ticket last time around in the assembly elections.
I hear Plaids support in the Conwy Valley isn't bringing the benefits with it to the new constituency for Plaid!

Excellent response by a high calibre parliamentary candidate..
Does anybody think Labour is in with a chance in Aberconwy at this election? No, so why are the Tories so desperate to downplay Plaid's hopes? Answers on the back of a duckhouse expense receipt.
Guto's blog tries to play down Tew's defecting from the Tories saying that they couldn't meet Tew's demands. Not unlike someone leaving Plaid Cymru then was it!
