Fib Dems at it again

The postman delivers another full-colour newsletter from the Lib Dems this morning - money is no object to the party that took £2.4m from a convicted fraudster and they don't have the members to deliver door to door.

On the front page, you spot the first lie:

"The Lib Dems were the only party to oppose the illegal war in Iraq."

Er, apart from Plaid Cymru, the Greens and various socialist parties.

Which makes the next sentence rather threadbare:

"Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg ... has pledged to keep on fighting for the truth in Parliament."

There is one mention of Plaid Cymru - apparently we were part of an Assembly Government trying to "force local people to travel to Swansea for NHS treatment". Except that that was the unpopular policy of Labour before the 2007 elections, something Plaid fought tooth and nail.

Once in coalition through the One Wales Agreement, Plaid successfully argued against this. The Fib Dems, a pale imitation of a party, had nothing to do with it.

It goes without saying that it was printed in England.
