Bloggers and Online Media Libel Case Struck Out

Great news from the High Court in London today when Mr Justice Eady threw out a libel/defamation case for Abuse of Process. I won't publish details of the claimant but the defendant was David Ostler a journalist and popular left wing blogger. Details of the case can be found in the press release issued by defending counsel and further commentary by Jack of Kent. This is the second succesfull defence of a libel claim in recent weeks, the first being the Simon Singh case who succesfully defended a libel case brought by the British Chiropracter Association.

There is still a need for some serious libel reform so please sign this petition.

Well said and I am pleased to see another voice in Wales interested in, and understanding the case for libel reform and not just, it seems, me!
