Tarian Cymru - a shield for Wales

News that Brown has gone and Cameron will be PM means Wales faces "savage cuts" that will impact heavily on our public services.
Plaid has a vital job to do as "Tarian Cymru" - a shield for Wales.

The problem is that Labour will be playing that role as they did in the 1980s. It will be even more difficult for Plaid to differentiate itself from Labour that it is at the moment (given the centre left stress on public services etc that dominates Plaid party thinking). Maybe it will be easier to get the referendum won, though.

you're right Efrogwr. Back to the 19 bloody 80s and every local byelection for Cwm Sgwt is a 'refferendwm on the Tories'. More sanctimonious Labour people chanting 'Tories Out' all the bloody time.

Hope Plaid don't make the same mistake and go far to the left like last time and don't turn into Labour's lap-dogs.

There are some things the Tories and LD will do which most people will think needed to be done. People don't want to be lectured by Labour or Plaid everytime and saying no to every cut in public service, sorry, 'hard working public service workers' isn't going to win us votes.

Can we please be a little more intelligent this time in our opposition and campaiging.

Labour was also committed to savage cuts, so we should be under no illusions about their track record.
Public services deserve our support more than ever now.

How about collecting the £150 billion tax that is uncollected, evaded and avoided instead of cutting tax inspectors jobs.

Plaid Gwersyllt sounds like a tory in disguise.

Think you're a bit confused Anon, since when have the Tories any intereset in collecting taxes from their supporters and donors i.e. Lord Ashcroft?
