Ecclestons closes

The closure of Ecclestons bakery is baffling at first sight - a thriving business with an excellent local reputation. The owner apparently tried to find a buyer but it's not clear whether he considered selling it to the 40+ staff who have now lost their jobs.

I've tried contacting the bakery to see if there is a way to retrieve the situation. We need jobs in Wrecsam and there is help available (e.g. from the Wales Coop Centre) to set up community interest companies to help run enterprises like this. The workers at the bakery and the shops affected (in Wrexham, Chirk, Coedpoeth, Llangollen, Corwen and Bala) have an option and it's disappointing that the owner didn't consider that before immediate closure.

I hope it's not too late for some kind of rescue bid.

Ecclestones was far more than a Wrexham employer, an excellent baker who provided bread for Corwen and Bala. The shops in both towns also employed local people, who have now lost their jobs. The loss of the daily necessity of bread will hit rural people very hard.
