Alaw Ward

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board are considering closing Alaw Ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd. Alaw Ward is the cancer ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd and a decision to close will be devastating news for the people of North West Wales and the fact that patients and relatives may well face a lengthy journey to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwydden. Our predictions of centralisation of services without public consultation is and was accurate despite denials the the Board.

Please fight this threatened closure for all those currently receiving cancer treatment at Ysbyty Gwynedd or those, like me, who owe their current health to the dedicated consultants and staff on the Alaw Ward and Clinic.

Fight it for the elderly partners of deathly ill patients that I see from all over the Llyn who travel for hours to comfort their loved ones.

Close part of the cancer facility and you diminish the whole.

I voted Plaid because I foresaw that fierce cuts would be necessary but believed that Plaid would ensure that off balance sheet local needs would not be overlooked. Please don't let me down.
