Labour win by-election!

Labour's Sherry Edwards took the vacant seat in Prestatyn Central ward follwing the death of Independent member John Morris. The result was:

Sherry Edwards (Labour) 407
Michelle Pope (Tory) 361
Gary Bourne (Ind) 111

At the 2008 election Conservatives took 2 of the 4 seats in the ward where Labour didn't even have a candidate. The result was:

Peter Charles Duffy (Ind) 694 (Elected)
June Cahill (Tory) 665 (Elected)
Margaret A Horobin (Tory) 576 (Elected)
John Morris (Ind) 485 (Elected)
Graham J Perceival (Tory) 437
Matthew Curtis (Tory) 432
Paul Penlington (LD) 296

This is a bad result for the Tories and probably explains the absence of the Dyffryn Clwyd Tory candidate, Ian Gunning from the Tories's one day conference in Llandudno on Saturday.

I have to say I'm suprised by the fact that not only are you flagging up the fact that Plaid dont seem to have put up candidates in either 2008 or 2010; but that you also seem to be celebrating your opponent's (Labour) victory.

Not in the least, just pointing out collapse in Tory vote in what should be their stronghold in Vale of Clwyd.
Makes no odds to me who wins I only care about what Plaid Cymru do, but I don't only blog Plaid Cymru.
