Alternative Vote

Despite what people say about the Alternative Vote, it seems to me to be pretty straight forward compared to elections to Seanad Éireann, the upper house of the Oireachtas or Irish Parliament which is currently taking place. This bluffers guide to the Seanad elections is as simple as it gets!

That's because Eire uses STV. Are they not abolishing their upper house?

FG and Labour are in favour of abolishing the house but nothing as yet. I don't have a problem with STV, its the 5 panels, 2 Universities and the 11 Senators nominated by Kenny that gets me...and the limited numbers of electors!!
